* owned and operated by Roger & Brenda Card

Cards Building Centre was founded more than 70 years ago in the same location it occupies today, Bancroft, Ontario. JN Brown and a group of investors founded Bancroft Lumber and Fuel, Ltd. in 1939. Over the years, the store has changed owners as the competitive building supply industry grew. Peterborough Lumber purchased the store from JN Brown. Cashway Lumber owned the store until 2000 when RONA purchased that company. Roger Card and his wife Brenda purchased the store in 2006 when RONA made a decision to sell the stores to managers. The RONA Bancroft store was the first owner operated store in the RONA network.
